By Sarah Larkin Wilson students obviously have a lot of school spirit, and that was showcased in the first pep rally of the 2016-2017 school year. The entire Wilson student body came together to boost spirits before the homecoming football game that night. Between teachers dancing, cheerleaders chanting, and students competing, the school pride was almost tangible!

By Maggie Foight Question: “Schoolwork + extracurriculars = stress! What is the best way to deal with that type of stress?” Answer: Stressing out too much may not be good for your health, but twenty percent of American teens have to deal with it on a daily basis. Typically, being stressed can result in feeling overwhelmed, experiencing tension, having a higher heart rate, and getting clammy hands. The best way to deal with stress depends on the person, but some of the most effective ways to cope include exercising, limiting caffeine, stepping back from your workload, and getting enough sleep. By Maggie Foight You see him on the morning announcements, the stage year-round, and in the halls throughout the day: a senior of Wilson’s class of 2017, Aaron Rutt is close to the end of his high school career. He began acting in a sixth grade musical: “The first time I really enjoyed acting was at Southern… for the musical Oliver. I really only did it because it was an extra activity after school and I liked music… At the end, I realized I enjoyed it, and that it made me happy.” He currently enjoys acting in the Wilson High School plays, and the annual musical. By the end of this year, he will have acted in a total of eleven main stage productions and six one-acts. He has also stage managed for the early 2016 production Footloose, and plans on doing the same with 2017’s Chicago. By Amanda Le Madison Rohrbach, a member of Wilson High School's class of 2018, has charitably provided her school with a sliver of her perceptive input upon life. Demonstrating hard-willed dedication for the sake of others, Rohrbach's contagious core tenets have reached the hearts of Wilson. These tenets, deriving from past struggles, paved a luminescent pathway which allowed Rohrbach to embark herself upon a dignified life.
