Q: One of my best friends has been feeling really sad ever since the beginning of the year. He doesn’t talk to most of his friends, his grades have dropped, and he just seems really apathetic and depressed. I’m even starting to worry he’s thinking about hurting himself. His family situation isn’t very good either, and I don’t think his dad will recognize his son might have a problem. How can I help?

Q: My best friend and I have always been attached at the hip since third grade. The problem is that this is the first year I never see her. We have no classes or lunch together. I don’t even see her in the hallways anymore! I know they say your friends change in high school, but I don’t want that to happen. What should I do so that our friendship isn’t ruined? Q: I have this thing for this guy. It’s more an affliction than anything. Because I like him in spite of the fact I know he isn’t a good guy. He does some questionable things recreationally, and I’m not about that. The issue isn’t what he does, I’m my own person after all. The real issue is, I like him but I very much do not want to date him. What should I do to rid myself of this ailment? Q: I love my friends, don’t get me wrong. But lately, instead of enjoying myself with them, they’ve been making me feel bad about myself. They always make fun of me and laugh at me. I know I’m supposed to stop being friends with them and find new ones, but it’s just so hard. They’ve been my friends since elementary school, and I’m not too good at making new ones. What should I do? |
