By Jaimin Patel As the growth of technology is rapidly increasing, from the popular new virtual reality systems to self-driving cars, the importance of teaching the fundamentals of innovation and problem solving have found their way into school systems. One major example is the club Technology Student Association (TSA). According to their official website, TSA’s goal is to foster “personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); members apply and integrate these concepts through co-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs.” With these concepts in mind, TSA strives to create the leaders of tomorrow who will learn to problem solve in any situation. Furthermore, STEM has been a vital aspect of the core of TSA, succeeding in bringing math and science to the forefront.

By Amanda Le Photography by Amanda Le East Asian Club has been with Wilson for many years, and they actively work to improve the exposure of East Asian culture to the students! By Akanksha Bhusari "Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership" - The Kiwanis Organization. Key Club has been one of the most popular community service clubs at Wilson for many years, and the 2015-2016 school year has much more in store for the club. Though it is unconventional, Key Club is being run by a group of five juniors that are dedicated to the club’s mission. President Zane Elgogari, Vice President Lindsey Gibbon, Secretary Lydia Yenser, Treasurer Lauren Yu, and Editor Rachel Krut are all excellent students who also participate in various activities such as band, orchestra, choir, select choir, golf, track, soccer, tennis, TSA, student government, Mini-THON, and Spanish and French Clubs. By Lauren Davis This August, about 400 freshmen piled into the stands of the gym and had an exciting day with Link Crew. This was Wilson’s second year participating in Link Crew, and I had the privilege of being a part of it for both years. For those of you upperclassmen who have never been a part of Link Crew, it is an international program with the aim of creating a welcoming and supportive environment for incoming freshmen. The year kicks off with the orientation, which is a four-hour event where freshmen and Link Leaders play games, get to know each other, where the leaders share advice, and leaders give a tour of the building. Link Crew also hosts event throughout the year. The events are for the freshmen and their Link leaders. The first event of the year is a tailgate that happens before the first home game of the season. They also hold other events like, studying parties before midterms and finals and holiday parties. |
