Donald Trump has been at the forefront of every single media outlet since the day he decided to run for office. Every controversial opinion he holds is taken apart piece by piece, no matter what party the media is from. But his recent opinion has sparked some serious controversy. Donald Trump has recently said that he would ban all Muslims from coming into the United States if he is elected. It is speculated that these comments were in response to the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino earlier this month.

At the start of every season, we have tryouts to decide who will actually compete against other schools. At tryouts, we play one round (18 holes) each day for 2 days. At the end of the two rounds, the top eight scorers out of everyone trying out become the actual golf team. These eight then compete against other schools. But this top eight doesn't stay the same for long. Each week, we have challenge matches for the seventh and eighth spot on the team. Each challenge match is nine holes. The two best scores get the seventh and eighth spot on the team. Each year, there is also a tournament for the girls on each team in the county. Of these top eight players, the number one spot belongs to Dylan Audi. Dylan is a sophomore at the high school. He has been playing golf for five years now, and has been playing competitively for two years. As the United States worries about its next election, Europe has bigger problems on its hands. Hundreds of thousands of people are escaping turmoil in the Middle East and Africa and moving to Europe. According to the International Organization for Migration, this is the “largest movement of people since World War II.” They escape not only to nearby countries like Greece and Austria, but also countries like the United Kingdom, France and Russia. These migrations have caused problems for the migrants and the citizens of those countries they are going to. The migrants come to these countries for refuge from unlivable conditions. The residents of these countries are now overloaded with new people, causing inevitable ethnic clashes. These clashes are shown in almost every country they go to, including Germany. According to Yahoo, immigrants “were left stranded” at a train station because German police “barred them from traveling” into Germany. These clashes also occurred in a Hungarian train station, where a standoff happened, similar to one in Germany. However, migrants took it to the next level. They were so annoyed waiting in the train station to go to Hungary that they decided to start walking to Germany. According to CNN, families “trudged along the side of a highway,” saying that they “set out on foot because they simply could not wait any longer.” These problems stem from one main occurrence happening in the world right now. All of these countries are experiencing wars that are destroying everything around them, leaving these people no other choice but to leave. Syria has especially experienced these events. Syria has been all over the news for the past few years. Syria has been targeted from both military regimes and ISIS. Both have destroyed Syria and its people. The people of Syria have no other choice but to flee, since staying there will mean instant death. The current problem with the migrant crisis are the countries migrants escape to. Each of these countries are experiencing thousands of people coming in every day. This influx of people makes countries have to take action. Hungary is now not letting in undocumented migrants. Doing this allows Hungary to lessen the amount of people coming in, but it also denies people the chance for survival. When countries do let them in, refugees have to wait for days at train and bus stations. Conditions are extremely unsanitary, and after a while, the refugees can't take it anymore. According to CNN, the migrants decided to walk to Austria, which was 100 miles away. In response, the Hungarian government sent buses for them for their trip to Austria. According to CNN, the migrants fear that the Austrians will put them in holding camps, so they deny refuge in Austria and continue to their final destination, Germany. |
