By Jada Butler If you know Ryan Sullivan, senior, then you know that he has a knack for making a lot of noise. Sound design and music production, or musicality, are among his favorite things to do. While being a member of Wilson Media Productions and Wilson Theater Company all through his highschool career, he has had access to sound boards to hone in his skills towards making his future career goal: to become a Sound Designer. “Two years ago, I realized I could do this as a job,” says Ryan. “I originally wanted to do music production, but I realized I liked making music for myself and didn’t want to make the ‘Next Top 100’ track.” Ryan goes on to explain that his job is to tell a story to make people feel a certain way.

By AJ Newton October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. It is an annual campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer. Over the years, people have been trying to take bigger steps to raise money and find a cure. My grandmother, who I call “Mom-mom”, was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. Thankfully, after months of radiation and prayers, she survived. Key Club has been one of the most popular community service clubs at Wilson for many years, and the 2015-2016 school year has much more in store for the club. Though it is unconventional, Key Club is being run by a group of five juniors that are dedicated to the club’s mission. President Zane Elgogari, Vice President Lindsey Gibbon, Secretary Lydia Yenser, Treasurer Lauren Yu, and Editor Rachel Krut are all excellent students who also participate in various activities such as band, orchestra, choir, select choir, golf, track, soccer, tennis, TSA, student government, Mini-THON, and Spanish and French Clubs. By Ersha Kumar “V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! That’s the Bulldog battlecry!” Late last month, Wilson had an exciting spirit week, filled with door decorating, pep rallies, and, of course, homecoming! Every year, Wilson students are excited to show off their school spirit by doing fun activities throughout the course of the week. The week starts off with the door decorating contest, in which homerooms compete in order to show that they have the most school spirit. In the middle of the week is the Wilson Bulldogs’ favorite event: the pep rally! Music, cheering, and Wilson pride fill the gymnasium as the sports teams are recognized for their season’s achievements, and the homecoming court participates in fun activities to prove that they are the most spirited bulldogs in school. The week ends with the well-awaited homecoming game, filled with entertaining games, good food, and alumni from all across the country. |
