By Jenny Tang A woman of many talents, Mrs. Timpson, a former chemical engineer and Wilson teacher for 21 years, never fails to go above and beyond in everything she does. She teaches AP and Honors Chemistry and is so well-known and loved that even students who are not her own feel at home and welcomed in her classroom. Part of what makes her so respected is her dedication to her teaching. “I believe everyone has their own personal learning method, and they just need to find it,” Timpson said, explaining her many different presentations of lessons to help students absorb the most knowledge.
“I’m also a really, really organized person. And sometimes I can help students get more organized too,” she adds with a smile. Apart from her busy life in the classroom, Timpson is also known for how she gives back outside of work. Besides being an outstanding educator, Timpson is also an avid dog lover who volunteers at and works with various rescue groups, including KPETS and DVGRR. You may not be that surprised when I tell you it doesn’t end there. Timpson also personally designs, makes and sells clothing for both people and their dogs. “I think it’s a shame when people let perfectly good things go to waste,” Timpson said regarding the material she uses for her designs, which are all completely environment-friendly. Many of her pieces are upcycled from other items of clothing. Her designs can be found on Facebook and Instagram at @recreationsbyrobin. Despite it all, Timpson also continuously finds time for her family. She has three grown daughters, one of which who follows in her footsteps as a director of marketing and design in New York. You may be wondering what the secret is behind Timpson’s seemingly superhuman lifestyle, as well as her motivation to keep being the remarkable human she is. Her answer? “I love both my design business and teaching because they let me be creative and interact with many people, which I love.”
