By Utkarsh Panchal During the regular and postseason, there was a lot of surprises. That, apparently, carried into the offseason as well. During NFL free agency, players that were bound to get traded got traded, and some players, who looked like they would stay on the same team, got traded as well. To start things off, the Eagles, who brought in a new coach, was bound to trade the remains of the Chip Kelly offense and Defense. To start, Demarco Murray got traded to the Titans, as well as Mark Sanchez, who went to the Broncos, where Peyton Manning retired, and Brock Osweiler got picked up by the Texans. Kiko Alonso, who was Chip Kelly’s replacement for LeSean McCoy, got traded, along with Byron Maxwell, to Miami for draft picks. In bigger news, Matt Forte, who was the face of the Chicago Bears’ running game, got traded to the Jets. Another big running back of Lamar Miller, got traded to the Houston Texans. In result, Arian Foster, another running back, who is one of the keys to the Houston offense, got released. Chris Ivory, a key part of the Jets offense, got traded to the Jaguars. In quarterback news, Robert Griffin III get traded from the Redskins, where he sat on the bench injured for the 2015 season, to the Browns, where Johnny Manziel get released. Ryan Fitzpatrick, who led the Jets to a stellar season, got released.
Key offensive players, such as Benjamin Watson, Owen Daniels and Malcom Floyd all got released. LeGarrette Blount, who was the main man in the Patriots running game, was also released. Key Defensive also got released. Antonio Cromartie, who was a key part of the Jets defense, got released. BJ Raji, who led the defensive front, got released from the Packers.
