On February 13th, just ten days after Super Bowl 53 between the Patriots and Rams, the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos agreed to terms on a trade that will send former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco to the Broncos. The Ravens were determined to move in a new direction at the quarterback position for the future as rookie Lamar Jackson played well in the 2018 season after replacing an injured Flacco halfway through the season.
Flacco, a 34 year old veteran drafted in 2008 out of the University of Delaware, is at the tail end of his career looking for one last chance at playing and winning in the NFL. The Broncos will take on Flacco’s current contract of 3 years 66.4 million dollars as they will enter the team’s offseason workouts with a starting QB battle between newcomer Flacco and the Broncos’ 2018 starting QB Case Keenum. Denver will be looking to turn around their fortunes as they missed the playoffs in the 2018 season with a record of 6-10. The trade between the teams will not be official until the new year in the NFL officially begins on March 13th.
