Q: I have a really busy schedule, and we are starting to do scheduling for next year. I want to take challenging classes and still participate in the extracurriculars I am in, but I don't know which ones to cut? I know my classes should be towards something that I want to do in the future, but I have no idea of what I want to be. Please help! A: Scheduling is always the worst time of the year. There are so many voices telling you what you should do. My recommendation is to take those challenging classes but make sure you will enjoy the subject or teacher. If you don’t like the subject or have struggled with it in the past, consider giving yourself a break and take an easier class. You will have less homework and more time for extracurriculars. As for your future career, you don't have to know what you want to do now. There are so many years ahead of you when you can figure it out. The best thing to do now is to take classes that sound like fun. It's as easy as that, and maybe one of those fun classes will lead you to your passion. Be flexible and don’t rush the process. You will find it. Now teachers and counselors don't like this next part, but you can change your schedule if you find it is too hard or not what you wanted. Just remember, if your schedule is not what you wanted, it is not the end of the world.
